The job: 

 

As our Outdoor Category Manager, you will drive the growth of Decathlon UK’s market share for Outdoor Sports by developing innovative cross-channel commercial strategies and experiences, with a special focus on promoting active lifestyles across and incorporating sustainable alternatives into the business model.

As a Multisport Workshop Technician, you are one of the key reasons our customers come back to Decathlon.  Your role is to provide a high level of diagnosis and timely repairs or services across a mix of sports products (circa 85% bikes) to meet the expectations of our customers. You’ll be helping customers extend the life of their sports products by keeping them performing like new for longer.

We have an exciting opportunity for a PPC Shopping expert to join our fast-paced, growing UK Marketing team. In this role, you would be responsible for supporting the performance marketing team to drive traffic and sales through decathlon.co.uk. 

 

The PPC team manages paid search channels (Google & Bing), as well as Google Shopping in-house for a number of commercial and branding teams across the UK business. This role primarily focuses on Google Shopping and feed optimisation, working with large datasets and optimising both product information as well as campaign set-up and efficiency. 

 

The team are responsible for large budgets and is looking for support to improve performance through these channels. This is a fantastic opportunity for a numerate and analytical paid search candidate with several years of experience to join a large, established retailer in the world of online sportswear and equipment.

 

Your responsibilities: 

  • You will assist in driving sales and new customer growth against efficiency targets

  • You will help to implement, monitor and execute our customer acquisition strategy across Paid Search, with the potential to work on other channels

  • You will work both hands-on with the in-house team, and periodically liaise with existing agency partners on seasonal full-funnel campaigns

  • You will manage ad spend, campaign feeds, and support with any necessary technical and creative requirements

  • You will be supported with reporting through BigQuery, Google Sheets and Looker Studio

  • You will also use API solutions to support automating reporting, campaign conversion measurement and optimisation as well as day-to-day analysis

  • Someone looking to combine a passion for sport with work.

  • We’re looking for someone with 3+ years experience across Paid Search activity, with a particular familiarity with Shopping campaigns and feed optimisation. Paid Social experience would be an additional bonus

  • Hands-on experience managing large Google Ads accounts, proactively optimising performance and monitoring trends.

  • Comfortable working with large datasets and analysing performance trends

  • Familiar with the Google ads interface, Google Merchant Centre and Google Shopping product feeds

  • You have a genuine interest in digital marketing and an appreciation for how digital marketing channels work and can complement each other.

  • You have a wider interest in marketing and understand how brand marketing complements performance marketing.

  • You will be numerate, and enjoy working with large amounts of data

  • Any prior experience in coding languages (SQL, Javascript), would be beneficial, though not required.

  • You are a self-starter and take initiative, looking for ways to do things yourself before asking for help.

  • You are willing to get hands-on, are ruggedly persistent in the face of challenges, and embrace new opportunities.

  • You are confident working with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • You will always be on the lookout for new ideas and how we can do things better

 

Skills we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with data and identify trends

  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets

  • Proficiency with Google Shopping, an understanding of product feeds and best practices for each

  • Proven track record of budget management, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Confidence in presenting data and insights in a clear and concise manner 

  • Can function both as an individual and as a team player

 

Specific requirements/Work environment:

 

 This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least three days a week in one of our Offices in London (Surrey Quays)
